Prelude to Scotland, Ireland and vicinity...
After two previous postponements of a trip to Scotland for Kay and I, we are hoping three is a charm. We have optimistically booked two tours and two tour extensions for this summer (2022).
Our plans are to leave Atlanta on July 12 with our our friends, neighbours and frequent travel companions, Janet and Carl Wellborn. This will be the beginning of of a 14 day Overland Adventure Travel tour titled "Scotland Revealed: Legends, Lochs & Highland Landscapes". This is followed by a 5 day extension in the Shetland Islands. On August 1, we start a small ship trip for two weeks the "Maritime Jewels of the British Isles: England, Wales, Northern Ireland & Scotland". This in turn is followed by an extra night in Oxford and then a flight to Cork Ireland where we spend an additional 6 nights exploring the area and then fly back to Atlanta from Dublin on August 21. The total trip time will be 40 days, just short of 6 weeks.
The main map shows our route starting at Glasgow and ending in Edinburgh. The inset Post-Trip Extension to the right of Edinburgh shows our Shetland Island travels.
The second part of our travels on the 98 passenger M/V Corinthian are shown by the blue line from Aberdeen ending at Fishguard and overland to London where we fly to Cork, Ireland to begin our second trip extension.
My hopes are to regularly update this blog, but from previous experiences with Overseas Adventure Travel company, sometime there are just not enough hours in the day! Nevertheless, you are welcome to travel along with us and share our adventure.
