Day 15 - July 26, 2022 - Fly to Lerwick, Shetland Isles

We were up at 3:30 this morning for a 7:00 AM flight.  It is now 9:00 PM and the internet is extremely slow.  Therefore, I am just posting a few photos and little commentary.  I hope you understand.

Edinburgh's iconic control tower.

I didn't know Scotland had its own airline.

Our prop plane for the flight to Shetland Islands.

After we landed in Shetland at Sumburgh and pickup up our luggage, our ride actually had to drive across the airstrip.  There were light signals to let you know if a plane was landing or taking off.

The following are just photos of the the scenery along the highway in southern Shetland Islands.

It looks nice and it was, but the temperature was about 54 with a 15 mph wind.

An interesting beer.

I can't remember if I talked about these crossing before.  If I have I apologize.  These are called Zebra Crossings.  The yellow balls on the poles flash and pedestrians always have the right of way.  The moment you step onto the stripe on the street, the traffic stops.  We have seen these in several cities in Scotland and they seem to work well.
